Review of the DIALux Business Conference 2024
Last week (26.11.2024), the DIALux Business Conference 2024 took place in Lüdenscheid, attended by numerous DIALux members from the international lighting industry. Representatives of luminaire manufacturers from all over Europe came together to discuss the latest developments and exciting prospects for the future of lighting design. “Over the past year, we have held numerous insightful discussions with planning offices to understand how lighting design will change in the future. These insights are directly incorporated into the further development of DIALux so that we can adapt the software even better to the needs of our users and make their work as efficient as possible,” emphasized Dieter Polle, Managing Director of DIAL.
The conference also provided a comprehensive overview of the usage figures for DIALux. With now 438 DIALux members and 750,000 users worldwide, DIALux is the leading lighting design software. Since March 2024, only products from DIALux members can be used in the free version, which has significantly increased the proportion of member products in the lighting designs of our users.
We have compiled a small selection of statistics for you:
Particular attention was paid to current developments in DIALux, such as the calculation and evaluation of obtrusive light, a topic that is becoming increasingly relevant as cities and municipalities are increasingly planning their lighting concepts with sustainability and environmental aspects in mind.
Another topic was the preview of the DIALux roadmap, which provided a detailed insight into upcoming features and developments. Two focal points were highlighted in particular: The extended integration of open BIM, which facilitates the exchange of planning data between different software solutions, and AI-optimized real-time visualization, which makes the planning process even more iterative and efficient.
The DIALux Business Conference 2024 was not only an opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the software, but also a meeting place for professionals who want to actively shape the future of lighting design. The conference once again showed how important it is to promote dialog and exchange within the industry - and DIALux remains an indispensable tool that points the way to sustainable and efficient lighting design.
